What We Do

In 2019, the Village adopted a Sustainability Plan. While the Sustainability Plan primarily focuses on local government action, it acknowledged that resident action is critical to Village sustainability. Thus, the Green Team was formed.

 

Our Mission

The Green Team works with Village residents, businesses, and the local government to identify and implement practices and policies that increase the overall sustainability of the Village. Membership is open to all Village residents over the age of 18 years at no cost.

 

Focus Areas

We are currently focusing on the following areas:

  • Carbon Neutrality: Help the Village come a carbon neutral municipality.

  • Waste Reduction: Help the Village become a zero-waste municipality and establish a composting program.

  • Toxin Reduction: Help the Village reduce the use of harmful pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers in the Village.

  • Runoff Reduction: Help the Village reduce phophorus and sodium chloride runoff.
